Supply Chain is responsible for purchasing, receipting and delivery of goods to 1,900 locations across the four Northern Region district health boards. Our teams ensure that items ranging from bandages to skin grafts and bone for surgery, are available when and where required.
The teams also work to provide visibility of end-to-end supply chain through planning systems to enhance and streamline business processes. Implementing process improvements and supply chain strategies helps to release clinician time back to front line care and achieve savings for the Northern Region. We support our work through efficient data management. Adding product to an online catalogue and working electronically with vendors enables us to better manage ordering, receiving and payment of goods and services. Our procurement team also use this data to inform their negotiations on behalf of the DHBs to achieve the best possible prices based on volume.
