Supply Chain

Supply Chain is responsible for purchasing, receiving and delivering goods to the Northern Region District Health Boards. Our teams ensure that items ranging from bandages to skin grafts and bone for surgery, are available when and where required.

The teams also work to provide visibility of end to end supply chain through planning systems to enhance and streamline business processes. Implementing process improvements and supply chain strategies helps to release clinician time back to front line care and achieve savings for the Northern Region.

Supply chain further deliver value through master data management. Adding product to catalogue and working electronically with vendors allows for more efficient ordering, receiving and payment. Understanding total purchasing also allows procurement to negotiate on behalf of the DHBs for the best possible prices based on volume.
