Richard Harrison shortlisted for national information security award

healthAlliance chief information security officer (CISO) Richard Harrison has been selected as a finalist in the 2021 iSANZ Awards in the Best Security CISO, Security Manager, Leader category.

The iSANZ Awards (external link) honour Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading people and organisations in the field of cyber and information security.

Richard joined the company four years ago as the first CISO for the Northern region just as it was embarking on an ambitious digital transformation programme to improve health outcomes.

Since then, Richard has built a high-performing security team that continues to work tirelessly to protect our DHB customers, safeguard systems and information, and keep people safe.

Despite the many challenges that Covid-19 has presented, under his leadership the team has done an incredible job ensuring the continuity of critical systems that underpin healthcare service delivery in our region.

Richard is joined by two other finalists, Josh Bahlman from Spark and Hilary Walton from Kordia. All three CISOs have been recognised by the iSANZ judging panel for their outstanding efforts in nurturing and growing the cyber security profession in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The winner will be announced in February 2022.
