Minister of Health visits healthAlliance

On Thursday 23 August the Minister of Health Hon Dr David Clark visited healthAlliance’s Connect campus to find out more about the range of shared services it delivers to the Northern Region DHBs.

Minister Clark, who was joined by Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield, was briefed on how healthAlliance successfully supports and maintains the country's largest and most complex health IT system. It was also an opportunity for the Minister to see first-hand some of the unique solutions healthAlliance delivers that enable its customers to deliver improved health outcomes to the communities they serve.

The Minister and Dr Bloomfield were also taken on a tour of healthAlliance's Services Operations Centre – the ‘nerve centre’ of the Northern Region DHBs’ ICT environment, and where critical health systems are monitored and supported 24/7.

Minister Clark: “I'd really like to say thank you to everyone here for the very important work you're all doing for New Zealand, it is appreciated. So thank you very much and well done.”
