Karen Blake shortlisted for national clinical leadership award
healthAlliance head of clinical informatics Karen Blake has been named as a finalist for the 2020 Clinical Informatics Leadership Award.
The award, run by the Clinical Informatics Leadership Network (external link) in partnership with Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ), recognises the important contribution clinicians make to the digital health sector.
Karen has been recognised by the sector for her role in leading healthAlliance's Covid-19 response as well as her tireless advocacy for clinicians working across technology and digital health.
The judges said: “Leading from the front, Karen has participated in a wide range of regional and national projects, whilst her clinical background influences her approach in all that she achieves. She is identified as a visible champion for clinicians working across technology and digital health.”
The 2020 award attracted six nominations from across New Zealand (external link) , representing different professions and across sectors of the health and disability system.
Ministry of Health deputy director general data and digital Shayne Hunter will present the winner of the award at the HiNZ Networking Event in Auckland (external link) on November 19 at Spark Health.
